Research on the Mode of English Teaching Assisted by ChatGPT-Based Vocational Knowledge Base

With the rapid development of higher education in China, the efficient application of artificial intelligence to enhance English teaching has become a critical focus. This study explores the use of the widely popular ChatGPT to develop a professional knowledge base for vocational education, thereby supporting English teaching. The proposed model integrates the domain-specific knowledge from experts across various higher vocational disciplines, enabling efficient and swift teacher-student interactions. By analyzing current challenges in vocational English teaching, such as limited teacher-student engagement, lack of personalized teaching materials and insufficient cultivation of practical skills, this study innovatively proposes a new teaching model that integrates ChatGPT technology with vocational education knowledge bases, effectively enhancing the English teaching standards of vocational colleges. Through pre-class preparation, in-class interaction for intellectual collision, and post-class review for consolidation and reinforcement, each step of the model focuses on professional teaching and practical skill development. Experimental observations show that this model not only significantly improves students' English translation skills, but also greatly stimulates their enthusiasm for learning, effectively advancing the quality of education to new heights.
