Study on CFD Analysis for Preliminary Design of Semi-Freejet Test with a Supersonic Intake

Flow stability analysis was performed using the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) during the preliminary design phase for a semi-freejet experiment with a supersonic air intake model. The investigation focused on several components: a closed inlet test model describing an intake cover, a support system, a nozzle to achieve the target Mach number, and a rear tubular diffuser.Based on the results of the numerical simulation, the test model placement was determined to ensure the intake region would be within the nozzle's Mach Rhombus. Also, flow analysis assessing interactions between the test model and its surroundings was performed, leading to the initial design of the semi-freejet test.
