Experimental data of flash point for miscible mixtures {n-heptane+1-butanol} and {p-xylene+1-butanol} at 101.3 kPa
Flash point (FP) is one of the most important variables used to characterize fire and explosion hazard of liquids. The FP data were experimented for the binary mixtures {n-hepatne + 1-butanol} and {p-xylene + 1-butanol} at 101.3 kPa. In this study, a Stanhope-Seta closed cup flash point tester was used to measure the FPs of binary mixtures with different n-heptane, p-xylene and 1-butanol compositions. The measured FPs were compared with the predicted values calculated using the Raoult’s law and also following GE models: Wilson and UNIQUAC. The models were able to predict the experimental FPs for different compositions of the binary systems with minimal deviations.
