High-Quality Circularly Polarized Luminescence from Submicron-Thick Thin Films of Cholesteric Liquid-Crystalline Oligo(phenylenevinylene) Derivatives
We report the circularly polarized luminescence properties of submicron-thick thin films of cholesteric liquid-crystalline oligo(p-phenylenevinylene) derivatives. The thin films fabricated by spin-coating exhibited circularly polarized photoluminescence with a dissymmetry factor of up to 1.5 by two-photon excitation. High-quality circularly polarized photoluminescence has been achieved with a thin film that is much thinner than conventional cholesteric liquid-crystal cells.
