IMPACT OF EXCEEDING WORKING HOURS STANDARDS ON OCCUPATIONAL RISKS OF EMPLOYEES

In conditions of labor productivity increasing, the problem of overwork and systematic excess of established working hours is becoming more and more urgent. Violations of the work and rest regime, lack of proper time for employee recovery, physical and psycho-emotional overstrain significantly increase the risk of accidents and occupational diseases. The problem requires a review of approaches to assessing and managing occupational risks in the workplace. The article examines the impact of exceeding working hours on the level of occupational injuries, and also suggests a practice-oriented methodology for ranking overtime in the occupational risk assessment procedure. The purpose of this study is to develop a systematic approach to identifying and analyzing the risks caused by fatigue and overwork of employees who are often involved in overtime work. The methodological basis is the adaptation of the matrix method, taking into account additional factors: the number of hours worked, the degree of subjective fatigue and recovery time. The work examines in detail the stages of assessment: from the identification of hazards to the re-analysis of risks after the implementation of corrective measures. The proposed approach includes calculating the number of hours during which an employee is in a state of fatigue per week. To do this, a formula taking into account the frequency of fatigue and the recovery rate of the employee is used. The values obtained are converted into points, which, combined with an assessment of the severity of possible consequences, make it possible to rank the occupational risks of employees. Visualization of the results is presented in the form of risk matrices that ensure ease of perception and convenience of decision-making.Three risk zones are identified: acceptable (green), controlled (yellow) and critical (red), which gives the employer the opportunity to respond promptly and effectively to the deterioration of working conditions. The developed methodology can be implemented in organizations of various fields of activity and adapted to specific conditions, which will significantly improve the effectiveness of occupational risk management, improve the condition of employees and ensure an appropriate level of industrial safety.
