Synergy of Traditions and Innovations: Models of Development of the Creative Industries at the Regional Level

The article analyses the growing role of the creative industries in ensuring the development of the regional socio-economic systems. It studies their economic and social capacity, ability to stimulate innovation, diversify the economy and increase the attractiveness of the territories. Three key mod-els of development of the creative industries at the regional level were identified: “creative city”, “creative cluster” and “creative periphery”, and foreign and national examples of their efficient im-plementation were provided. The importance of the synergistic effect produced by the interaction of the human capital, cultural heritage and innovative activity as the key components of development of the creative industries was emphasized.
