On selecting product categories to develop foreign trade cooperation of the Russian Federation

The development of trade relations under sanctions pressure requires the development of tools that ensure an informed choice of product categories for which there is a high need for the prompt elimination of technical barriers. The authors proposed criteria for selecting such categories of goods, taking into account foreign trade statistics, analysis of imposed sanctions, as well as the importance of specific goods for ensuring the technological sovereignty of the Russian Federation. The methodology for applying criteria for selecting product groups is shown using the example of groups 84 and 85 of the Commodity Nomenclature of Foreign Economic Activity of the Eurasian Economic Union.
