Corrosion behavior of migrating grain boundary of high entropy alloy
The microstructural characteristics and corrosion behaviors of solidification grain boundaries (SGB) and solidification grain boundary migration (SGBM) in the CoCrFeNi high entropy alloy (HEA) were investigated. The results demonstrated that the Cr content in SGBM is lower than that in SGB. AFM tests indicated that the Volta potential of SGB is more positive than that of SGBM. This suggests that SGBM exhibits higher susceptibility to corrosion in corrosive environments. This study elucidated the formation and corrosion mechanisms of SGBM, providing novel insights and theoretical foundations for effectively suppressing SGBM formation and improving the corrosion resistance of the materials.
