Response to the Letter to the Editor Entitled “The Context of Kidney Care in Pacific Island Countries”

We appreciate the comments in the letter to the editor [1] regarding our recent editorial, “The Progress of Nephrology in Pacific Island Countries (PIC) of Oceania” [2], which provides valuable additional context. We agree there are substantial gaps in health service coverage in the Oceania region, especially in the middle-income Pacific Island countries, and these contribute to the growing burden of chronic kidney disease.
