Multi-Resonant High Gain Antenna Using Dual-Slots for 5G Millimeter-Wave Energy Harvesting Applications
In this work, a dual-slotted dual band antenna is introduced built on Rogers RT Duroid 4003TM substrate (relative permittivity = 3.38, thickness = 0.8 mm, and loss tangent = 0.0021) and resonating at three frequencies, 32.80 GHz, 36.24 GHz, and 41.74 GHz, simultaneously. The perceived antenna has a simple design structure, and consists of a rectangular patch incorporated with dual slots on the rectangular radiating surface, exhibiting higher gain values; 7.4 dBi@ 32.8 GHz, 7.5 dBi@ 36.24 GHz, and 5.5 dBi@ 41.74 GHz. Also, a broader bandwidth of 5.69 GHz (33.65-36.41 GHz) and 4.14 GHz (40.56-43.46 GHz), and a stable directional radiation characteristic are obtained. The proposed antenna is excited through a 50-Ω microstrip line is designed within a compact dimension of 12.4×6×0.8 mm3.
