Optimization and Design of Smart Antenna Element using Softcomputing Technique
In the proposed research work, effective design strategy for inset-fed rectangular patch antenna is proposed, which can be used to form planar smart antenna array. Designed and developed antenna may be employed for 5 G mobile communications with ISM (Industrial Scientific and Medical) band. One of the popular swarms based soft computing optimization techniques i.e. PSO (particle swarm optimization), has been applied to estimate the exact geometrical parameters of antenna as well as feed dimensions so as to antenna element may resonate at 2.4 GHz frequency. The antenna is simulated and designed using CST simulation software. Simulated results are validated by experimentally measured results accomplished inside anechoic chamber of antenna testing and measurement laboratory (ATML).
