Exploring Terahertz Antenna Designs for High-Frequency Communication Applications
The design, simulation, and performance study of a microstrip patch antenna using Rogers RO3003 and RO3010 substrates working in the 0–10 THz frequency range are presented in this paper. The study looks into how various dielectric materials affect important antenna characteristics as radiation efficiency, gain, directivity, bandwidth, and return loss. Using CST Microwave Studio, simulations are carried out while taking into account the difficulties associated with terahertz wave propagation, including losses, miniaturization, and fabrication viability. The findings show that RO3003 provides superior impedance matching and lower losses, whereas RO3010 allows for more compact designs due to its higher dielectric constant. For the creation of high-performance terahertz antennas for upcoming 6G, high-speed communication, and sensing applications, the results offer insightful information.
