Implementing of Solar Wireless Charging for Electric Vehicle’s
This project falls under the domains of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Wireless Power Transfer (WPT), focusing on renewable energy solutions for electric vehicle (EV) charging. As the adoption of EVs increases, efficient and sustainable charging solutions are essential. Traditional wired charging methods require extensive infrastructure, face maintenance challenges, and limit user convenience. To address these issues, this study develops a solar-based wireless charging system that integrates IoT technology to maximize the power transfer efficiency while ensuring secure and real-time monitoring. The system consisted of a solar-powered charging station and a vehicle- side receiver unit. Solar panels generate electricity, which is regulated by a solar charge controller, before reaching the power-transfer unit. Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) helps to detect and maintain the optimal resonant frequency for maximum power transmission. An RFID authentication module ensures secure access, while an IR sensor detects for proper vehicle alignment in the charging zone. The system dynamically adjusts the frequency using real-time feedback from current and voltage sensors, with data transmitted via Wi-Fi modules to the charging station’s microcontroller, which monitors voltage, current, and powerflow, and displays data on an LCD screen for easy tracking. LED indicators provide real-time feedback to users and improve reliability. This system enhances the charging efficiency, security, and convenience by optimizing wireless power transfer and integrating IoT-based monitoring. This project contributes to sustainable EV charging infrastructure, reducing reliance on fossil fuels, while promoting clean energy solutions.
