Homomorphic Encryption for Enhanced Cybersecurity Privacy-Preserving Data Processing in Cloud-based Systems

Cloud-based systems have a number of data security challenges, particularly when it comes to processing vulnerabilities and privacy concerns that traditional techniques introduce. The paper proposes a new approach that uses homomorphic encryption (HE) to enhance data security and privacy. In contrast to existing approaches, HE ensures data encryption all the way through, eliminating the need for decryption during processing. To meet various processing needs while maintaining data security, the system employs a combination of Partially Homomorphic Encryption (PHE), Somewhat Homomorphic Encryption (SHE), and Fully Homomorphic Encryption. Through rigorous training, implementation, and performance analysis, the proposed system improves efficiency by reducing processing time, memory use, and computational overhead. Advanced key management, end-to-end encryption, and continuous monitoring are examples of security features that reinforce the system against potential threats. A comparative study demonstrates that the proposed system outperforms the existing system in terms of security balance, resource efficiency, and cloud-based functionality.
