Impact of Stray Capacitance in Inter disc Fault location in Transformer Winding
The most common reason for power transformer failures is interdisc short circuit faults. Usually, these mistakes lead to more significant ones. The identification and localization of winding faults is indispensible for preventing damages because the outage leads to cost and time-consuming restore and replacement of the equipment. The purpose of this work is to locate interdisc faults by utilizing the transformer winding's stray capacitance and impedance characteristics. This work uses stray capacitive analysis and sweep frequency response to simulate and measure a 22kV prototype continuous disc winding in order to predict the fault location.
