Planar Inverted-F Antenna (PIFA) for Medical Implant Communication Service

This paper describes a Planar Inverted F Antenna PIFA which is designed for Medical Implant Communication Service MICS band applications at 400 MHz Antennas play vital functions to deliver dependable communication along with the provision of miniature dimensions and biocompatible design features. With a serpentine structure and a shorting pin, the suggested antenna, which measures 26 mm x 35.61 mm x 1.67 mm, achieves impedance matching and small size while increasing bandwidth. The simulation outcome reveals that the proposed design meets current biomedical telemetry requirements by providing effective radiation characteristics together with a -11.375 dB return loss and a -34.96 dB gain. The antenna is fabricated on an FR4 substrate with a PEC ground plane and optimized for low Specific Absorption Rate SAR (0.125313 W/kg) to ensure patient safety.
