Design and Analysis of Meander line On-chip Antenna for NavIC Chipset Application

India’s indigenous Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC) system demands compact, low-power, and cost-effective antenna solutions for integration into modern devices. This paper presents the design of a miniaturized meandered on-chip antenna (OCA) for NavIC chipset applications. The antenna incorporates the use of a meander line structure to achieve miniaturization while maintaining optimal radiation performance by implementing it on a high-resistive (HR) silicon substrate. It also shows a high gain of 3.34 dB, along with an efficiency of 98%. An equivalent model analysis of the proposed OCA has been performed to validate the obtained simulation results. The theoretical and simulated results shows very good agreement. Additionally, a comparative analysis is carried out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed OCA for the NavIC chipset application.
