Planar Triple band Antenna using DGS for 5G mid band Application

A planar triple-band antenna with defected ground structure (DGS) is presented for 5G mid-band applications. The antenna is formed by a rectangular-shaped patch using a microstrip feed line. The antenna uses a DGS, which is achieved by two symmetrical rectangular-shaped slots combined with a half ground plane. The proposed antenna dimensions are 32 mm × 32 mm × 1.6 mm. An FR4 epoxy, characterized by a thickness of 1.6mm and a dielectric constant of 4.4, is used as a substrate for the proposed antenna. The proposed antenna exhibits return loss of -32.44, -18.95, and - 22.14 dB at resonant frequencies of 6.33, 7.60, and 12.97 GHz, respectively. The proposed antenna is simulated using software HFSS.
