Legalis: An AI Based Legal Assistant for Maharashtra Real Estate Laws
The complexity of Maharashtra’s real estate laws is astonishing, and it takes immense efforts for users unfamiliar to the state regulations to grasp the legal setup. Up to the current work, there are no AI tools that specifically cater to providing localized legal assistance to Maharashtra’s laws. In this scenario, laymen and legal practitioners find it difficult to interpret or apply any relevant laws that might apply to a certain case. The Legalis project, aiming to bridge this gap, will develop an AI-enabled legal assistant with a specialization in Maharashtra’s real estate laws. Users describe their legal situations, which the system processes for identifying the most relevant statutes applicable to the case, further providing information on historical cases that align with user-described case. This feature ensures the enhancement of the current legal situation of the user and assists the user in dealing with the problem effectively. The system operates by means of a composed and thoroughly developed internal database of laws throughout the states, integrated with powerful NLP techniques, in matching user inputs with relevant legal information, letting the user become involved in all aspects of the law with sharp understanding.
