3D FDTD Analysis of a Microstrip Antenna with PML Boundary Conditions
This study focuses on the design and analysis of a microstrip patch antenna. The evaluation of the antenna’s performance is carried out using a 3D finite difference time domain approach, and the reflection coefficient (|S<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">11</inf>|) result is compared with the result obtained from Ansys HFSS, a widely used commercial electromagnetic simulation software. The study demonstrates a strong agreement between the FDTD simulations and HFSS results validating the accuracy of the FDTD method for reflection coefficient analysis in microstrip antenna design.
