Square Cutouts-Shaped Graphene-Based THz Microstrip Patch MIMO Antenna for Ultra-Wideband Applications

A ultra wideband square cut shape graphene based microstrip patch four-port Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) antenna. The antenna features a copper-grounded bottom surface, while the top radiating patch is implemented on a silicon dioxide (SiO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf>) substrate. The proposed 4-Port MIMO antenna is constructed on a 80 × 80 μm2 platform. Because of differences in Fermi energy and chemical potential values, the structure is set up to give each body part unique far-field behavior. There is an unusual condition of cross polarization in conventional microstrip receiving antennas operating at high frequencies. In contrast to metallic receiving antennas, graphene-based patch antenna clusters provide excellent gain and low cross polarization for long-distance communication. The proposed antenna offer an impedance bandwidth ranging from 94.04% (3.6-10) THz for S<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">11</inf> ≤ −10 dB. The peak gain is 6.25 dB. The detailed analysis of the parameters such as reflection coefficient, gain, isolation and radiation patterns is presented for the suggested THz antenna models.
