Dielectric Resonator Built MIMO Antenna with High Isolation and Circular Polarization Feature For 5G Communication System
This paper focuses on the design and optimization of a Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) Dielectric Resonator Antenna (DRA) for operation in the millimeter-wave (mm-wave) frequency range, specifically around 29 GHz for 5G applications. The primary goal is to enhance isolation (more than 30 dB) between antenna elements and generate circular polarization features. A metallic strip-based decoupling mechanism is introduced to improve isolation by redistributing the coupling field and introducing a capacitive decoupling effect. Cross-shaped aperture creates the circular polarization within the working band. The proposed antenna works in between 28.79-29.18 GHz with a 3-dB axial ratio in between 28.81-29.15 GHz. Stable radiation features and diversity parameters makes the antenna appropriate for 5G communication system.
