Influence of Dielectric Permittivity Variations on the Electromagnetic Filtering Performance of Frequency Selective Surface
In this study, the frequency-selective behavior of various complex lossy dielectric periodic structures is systematically investigated using a simulation approach. The analysis considers transverse electric polarized plane waves incident at normal incidence. The dielectric material is characterized by a complex dielectric constant, with the imaginary component accounting for dielectric losses. This allows for a quantitative analysis of the frequency-selective properties of lossy dielectric frequency-selective surfaces (FSS), with particular focus on the effects of dielectric loss. Additionally, the effects of parameters of length and width is also studied.
