SmartSight: Object and Obstacle Detection for the Visually Impaired

The field of object detection in computer science has seen a lot of research, and there is a growing need for solutions that increase the independence and accessibility of people with visual impairments. In order to provide visual awareness through an integrated assistive system, this article focuses on image processing algorithms for real-time object detection and identification. Using a camera to record the surroundings, image processing algorithms to identify items, and aural feedback methods to tell the user are all steps in the process. This study compares the accuracy and efficacy of several image processing models frequently employed in real-time object recognition in order to improve accessibility for people with visual impairments. It also examines possible enhancements to boost the dependability of these models and talks about the difficulties in applying them in practical situations.
