Hybrid resource allocation scheme for D2D-enabled 6G networks
The development of Sixth-Generation (6G) networks is expected to bring unprecedented improvements in immersive, hyper-reliable, low-latency communication and ubiquitous connectivity. Device-to-Device (D2D) communication is a promising solution that enables users to transfer data without utilizing the base station. To achieve the goals of 6G, efficient resource allocation remains a critical challenge due to interference management and spectrum reuse between the cellular and D2D users. This study presents a hybrid Grey Wolf Optimization-Particle Swarm Optimization (GWO-PSO) scheme for optimized resource allocation to the cellular and D2D users. The hybrid scheme integrates Grey Wolf Optimization global exploration capabilities with Particle Swarm Optimization rapid convergence to increase overall network throughput, ensure fairness, and mitigate interference. Furthermore, this work highlights the importance of hybrid metaheuristic optimization techniques in shaping future communication systems. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed hybrid resource allocation scheme performs well in terms of enhancing overall network throughput, making it a promising solution for D2D-enabled 6G networks.
