Deaf Guard: Wristband Innovation For Hearing Impaired

The objective of the growing technology is to make people's lives more flexible, comfortable, safer, and refined. If a person suffers from some health problems or difficulties, then technology becomes even more crucial in assisting them to carry out their daily tasks in the same way as a healthy person. Hearing loss makes it impossible to respond to the surrounding circumstances and deal with their routine. In this research, we present an idea of a wristband prototype designed to solve this problem. The application listens to the surrounding noises and identifies the person’s name to alert the person to a vibration based on the intensity of the sound. It converts the sound into text and displays it on the LED display. A prototype of the proposed design has been built, along with the circuit design using Raspberry Pi. This wristband reduces the burden of placing hearing aids always to the ear and based on the vibration the user gets alerted and wear/fix the hearing aid to the ear. The proposed solution stands out for its simplicity of use, development, and efficiency.
