Comparative Analysis of PEM Cells Under Different Operating Conditions
This study examines Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyzer cells under different operating conditions: continuous operation, on/off cycles, and intermittent cycles with minimum current. With the aim of conducting a comparative analysis of their performance, studies were carried out simulating 250 days of operation, equivalent to 250 cycles. Voltage at the same given current was measured during the whole experiment. Results indicate that operating half cycle at minimum current represents the most effective operating condition for mitigating PEM cells degradation.
