Intelligent Home Energy Management Systems: Budget-Based Predictions and IoT Controls

Electricity is a essential resource for modern homes, yet control of its usage in a desired budget is still a major issue. To remedy this, we are suggesting an Intelligent Home Energy Management System (IHEMS) that will help users monitor and maximize power consumption. The system has a simple-to-use web application powered by Internet of Things (IoT) technology in order to automate the management of appliances. Users provide their monthly desired budget for electricity consumption and home appliance details, allowing the system to calculate daily usage limits through a machine-learning model using the Random Forest algorithm. This helps power consumption fit the set budget while delivering actionable energy optimization insights. The system also provides the facility to compare electricity usage during various time intervals and remote control of appliances for more convenience. The primary user interface is our website, which offers energy insights and control capabilities through an easy-to-use dashboard. This combination of machine learning and IoT enables users to effectively manage their electricity usage while having budgetary control. Our machine-learning model is accurate to more than 98%.
