Design and Performance Optimization of a Halbach-Array-Based Permanent Magnet Shock Absorber
Abstract To enhance the magnetic force and stability of a permanent magnet under fixed volume and material constraints, this paper designs a Halbach-array-based permanent magnet shock absorber based on the first-generation shock absorber. The magnetic field uniformity and bearing capacity of two magnetization models incorporating three Halbach magnetization angles are compared by simulation, and compared with the traditional magnetization method of the first-generation shock absorber. Group 3 is identified as the optimal configuration among seven groups and subjected to bearing capacity experiment to verify the reliability of the simulation results. Vibration reduction performance tests further demonstrate the optimization effect of the second-generation shock absorber. Comparative analysis reveals, the error between the simulation results and the experimental results of the bearing capacity is 6.0 % for Group 3 and 8.6 % for Group 7, respectively. The maximum bearing capacity of Group 3 reaches 162.7 % of Group 7 after optimization. Group 3 exhibits superior frequency response characteristics across all test loads, with a notably lower resonance peak compared to Group 7. Furthermore, the acceleration transmissibility ratio between Group 3 and Group 7 ranges from 97% to 99.9% under varying loads. Under all load and frequency conditions, Group 3 demonstrates enhanced vibration reduction performance over Group 7.
