The effect of the presence of a submucosal cleft palate on the middle ear and speech
The analyzed data from patients with SCP indicate serious changes in the middle ear: from OME to the presence of cholesteatoma. The presence of SCP affects not only the clarity of spoken speech, but also contributes to its delay. The data obtained demonstrate a direct relationship between the severity of manifestations in the middle ear and the age at which the diagnosis of SCP was made by an otorhinolaryngologist.
