The media exit of tocantins: an analysis of knowledge-power relationships present in a news story about paulo vieira

This article aims to understand the knowledge-power relations present in the news item “Paulo Vieira é eleito melhor humorista pelo segundo ano consecutivo no Melhores do Ano” (Fernandes, 2024). To achieve this purpose, the archeogenealogical apparatus of Discourse Analysis is mobilized, through the interpretative operators, statement, discursive formation, device and episteme. Thus, with a view to making the argumentative-methodological architecture more visible to the reader, the following sections and their respective summarized contents are presented. Theoretical-methodological apparatus: an archeogenealogy of discourse in which the instrumental is duly recorded. An analysis of the media success of Tocantins, in which the analytical operators are set in motion in the process of investigating the knowledge-power relations existing in the target object of this examination. As a result, the lack of data was verified regarding the media device as a constitutive feature of this, the meritocratic discursive formation as one of the representations of the egalitarian episteme in force in the contemporary scenario.
