Development of a UAV-based airborne transient electromagnetic instrument and its feasibility for loess slope detection

Loess slope detection has proven to be a critical issue for loess landslide early warning. Conventional methods, such as ground-based transient electromagnetic (TEM) techniques, are insufficient to meet the demands of rapid detection. Therefore, this study develops an airborne TEM method, referred to as the UAV-based TEM method, along with its corresponding instrument. To validate the feasibility of the instrument, a field experiment for loess slope detection was conducted. The results demonstrated that the instrument can be effectively applied to loess slope detection, meeting the requirements for high efficiency, and offering a valuable reference for the rapid early warning of loess landslides.
