Discrimination of underground metal and non-metal pipelines in seasonal freezing soil area
With the continuous construction and development of cities, the laying of underground pipelines is showing a trend of increasing length and density. Accurately determining the material type of underground pipelines can help us better maintain different types of underground pipelines. At the same time, seasonal freezing soil areas are widely distributed in Xinjiang. Due to the influence of the climate in seasonal frozen soil areas on shallow engineering geology, the electromagnetic environment shows seasonal changes, which leads to a significant seasonal impact on the propagation of electromagnetic waves in shallow geological layers. This brings great trouble to the distinction of different underground pipeline materials. This paper uses the relative dielectric constant data of the seasonal frozen soil area of Kaba-he in Xinjiang to construct a soil dielectric constant model without absorption in different seasons. Taking PVC pipes and metal pipes as examples, gprMax software is used for simulation and simulation to obtain the amplitude data at the boundary between soil and different material pipelines in different seasons. Through the amplitude recovery method, the amplitude data at the boundary between pipelines of different burial depths and soil are restored to the same depth. On this basis, the amplitude analysis method is introduced. The ratio of the amplitude at the boundary between different pipelines and soil to the amplitude A1 at the boundary between a specific material pipeline (with a relative dielectric constant of 1) and soil is defined as the relative amplitude. The relative amplitude of metal pipelines is greater than 1.5, and the relative amplitude of non-metal pipelines is less than 1. This realizes the distinction between metal and non-metal pipelines in different seasonal burial environments.
