3D magnetic architecture and basement configuration of the Sichuan Basin
The genetic mechanisms responsible for the distinctive aeromagnetic anomalies in the Sichuan Basin remain unresolved. The lithospheric magnetic architecture encodes key signatures of tectonic evolution and geodynamic processes, providing critical constraints for understanding the deep-seated structural framework and basement evolutionary dynamics of the Sichuan Basin. This study employs 3D lithospheric magnetic susceptibility imaging to investigate the tectonic setting of the large-scale magnetic anomalies in the Sichuan Basin. Through characterizing the 3D magnetic architecture and basement reactivation dynamics, we aim to elucidate the underlying mechanisms of the observed aeromagnetic anomalies and establish the evolutionary framework of the basement. This study holds significant implications for advancing intracontinental basin dynamics theory while providing practical insights for ultra-deep Paleozoic hydrocarbon exploration and seismic risk assessment related to basement deformation in the Sichuan Basin.
