Seismic-enhanced magnetotelluric inversion
Magnetotelluric (MT) inversion is an essential tool for subsurface resistivity imaging but suffers from low resolution due to the diffusive nature of electromagnetic waves. Seismic data provide high-resolution structural information, making them useful for enhancing MT inversion results. This study proposes a seismic-enhanced MT inversion method that incorporates structural information extracted from seismic images into the inversion process. Using the structure tensor, we introduce a penalty term to improve resolution and more accurately delineate geological features.
