Multi-evaluation-driven adaptive gravity focusing inversion

Gravity methods have long played a crucial role in fundamental geological surveys as well as resource and energy exploration. However, the intrinsic conservative nature of the gravitational field inherently limits improvements in its vertical resolution. While employing the minimum gradient support stabilizing functional can effectively enhance boundary resolution, the traditional approach for defining upper and lower limits of the focusing interval often involves subjective decision-making. To address this limitation, this paper introduces an adaptive focusing iterative algorithm based on minimum support. This novel approach quantitatively evaluates intermediate inversion results, thereby enabling adaptive optimization and adjustment of the focusing interval. Numerical simulation experiments demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can not only adaptively refine the focusing interval but also achieve high-resolution delineation of complex anomalous bodies.
