Atrial flutter (AFlu) often progresses to atrial fibrillation (AFib), and sex hormone deficiencies are associated with both AFib and AFlu. Yet, existing prediction tools for AFib rely on binary sex, which underestimates the complexity and similarities between men and women at metabolomic and hormonal level.
