Suspension roller to plate roll printing micro-forming process using laser to cut stainless steel negative Poisson’s ratio square-angle star-like arc structure

Abstract This study proposed a suspension roller to plate (R2P) roll printing micro-forming process. The study used a laser to cut stainless steel for a structure layer with Negative Poisson’s Ratio (NPR) characteristics. This layer was combined with the polydimethylsiloxane microstructure layer to obtain a suspension composite mold. This research controlled the microstructure by controlling the NPR structure layer and used numerical analyses to obtain the experimental parameters. Based on the simulation feasibility, a R2P suspension fine structure control roll printing system was developed to study the control and roll printing micro-forming process. The experimental results show that this study has excellent control characteristics within the elastic range and can obtain optimal roll printing conditions of the system. This dispersion of the film is uniform after roll printing which is confirmed by the optical test. This process can obtain the required microstructure shape, and the R2P suspension fine structure control roll printing system is stable. The proposed process technology can successfully achieve suspension R2P roll printing using the laser to cut stainless steel NPR angular star-like arc structure.

This process can obtain the required microstructure shape, and the R2P suspension fine structure control roll printing system is stable. The proposed process technology can successfully achieve suspension R2P roll printing using the laser to cut stainless steel NPR angular star-like arc structure.
