A147 Application of a 3d printed hemodynamic simulation system to analyze the correlation between stenosis characteristics and pressure gradient in the cerebral venous sinus

Introduction
Cerebral venous sinus stenosis (CVSS) has attracted attention due to its ability to cause pulsatile tinnitus (PT) and other diseases. The pressure gradient caused by the stenosis obstructs venous return and creates turbulence downstream leading to PT. In this study, a 3D printed hemodynamic simulation system was used to study the relationship between the degree of CVSS stenosis and pressure gradient.
Aim of Study
To analyze the relationship between the stenosis degree of cerebral venous sinus stenosis and the pressure gradient across the stenosis using 3D printing hemodynamic simulation system of cerebral venous sinus.
Method
A 3D printed cerebral venous sinus model was used to establish an in vitro hemodynamic simulation system. Simulate different degrees of structure, measure pressure differences and ratios, and fit equations to compare the effects of unilateral and bilateral drainage models on pressure gradients.
Results
The results showed a nonlinear increase in the pressure gradient with stenosis in the unilateral drainage model, with the fitting equation ΔP = 0.32x^2 + 1.1x + 4.8. In the bilateral drainage model, the pressure gradient changed little with stenosis in one cerebral venous sinus, and the fitting equation was ΔP = 0.5x + 1.0, reaching a stable state.
Conclusion
Unilateral dominant drainage of cerebral venous sinus stenosis has a significant effect on the pressure gradient, while bilateral balanced drainage of cerebral venous sinus stenosis has a small effect on the pressure gradient.
Conflict of Interest
No
