Stibiosegnitite, Pb(Fe3+2.5Sb5+0.5)(AsO4)2(OH)6, a new member of the alunite supergroup from the Murzinskoe gold deposit, Altai Krai, Russia

The new mineral stibiosegnitite, ideally Pb(Fe 3+ 2.5 Sb 5+ 0.5 )(AsO 4 ) 2 (OH) 6 , was found in the Phosphatno-Arsenatnaya vein, at the 245 m level of the Southern open pit operating at the Murzinskoe gold deposit, Altai Krai, Western Siberia, Russia. In the holotype specimen, stibiosegnitite forms pseudo-cuboctahedral crystals up to 0.02 mm grouped in compact aggregates forming thick crust 8 6 cm in area on quartz-limonite matrix in association with malachite and pseudomalachite. The new mineral is olive-green, transparent to translucent with greenish-yellow streak. It is brittle with uneven fracture. Its lustre varies from adamantine in crystals to dull earthy in aggregates.Cleavage is distinct on {001} Mohs' hardness is ~4.
