Integralny i pragmatyczny. Konserwatyzm Szkoły Peterhouse a torysowska tradycja realizmu politycznego
The article addresses the controversy surrounding the position of nine Tory traditionalists from the Peterhouse School (aka the Salisbury Group), primarily known in Poland through the work of Roger Scruton and Michael Oakeshott. Considering the broader context of the disputes over Thatcherism and the New Right, the text attempts to grapple with the question of whether the traditionalists’ critical attitude towards the liberal consensus embraced by the British political and opinion-forming establishment positions them outside the tradition of Tory pragmatism. It also makes a contribution to reflections on integral conservatism in a broader context than Britain.
