The present study compares fascism, national populism, and Putinism to demonstrate the similarities and differences between fascism and the two other political doctrines, which are sometimes referred to in contemporary public discourse as modern forms of fascism. By reconstructing the concept of fascism and listing the characteristics integral to fascist political thought, the text points to the differences between national populism and Putinism on the one hand and fascism on the other, leading to the conclusion that comparisons between these contemporary doctrines and fascism are unjustified, as they are based on false premises that distort the essence of fascism.
