Corrigendum to “The “Lone Wolf” sign: An underutilised aid for the diagnosis of melanoma in patients lacking multiple nevi” [EJC Skin Cancer 2 (2024) 100268]
The "Lone Wolf" sign is introduced as a valuable clinical means for detecting melanoma in patients with few or solitary nevi.In such cases, traditional intra-individual comparison methods like the "Ugly Duckling" sign may not apply. This sign emphasizes the importance of recognizing solitary melanocytic lesions as a potential indicator of melanoma.By raising clinical suspicion in such cases, the "Lone Wolf" sign enhances diagnostic accuracy. This, in turn, leads to earlier melanoma detection and improved outcomes for a previously underrecognized group of patients. The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
