Comparative Study of Structural, Optical, Thermal, and DC Conductivity of LiClO4 and Nano SiO2 on PVDF+PEG Polymer Blend System

The current study used the solution-casting method to prepare polymer blend thin films by combine polyvinylidene fluoride and polyethylene glycol. First, different weight percentages of polymers were evaluated and mixed each other. Following that, LiClO 4 salt and nano SiO 2 were added to the mixed polymer films in varying weight percentage ratios. Differential scanning calorimeter, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, UV–vis spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction (XRD) were among the spectroscopic techniques was systematically characterized the blended films to reveal the modified properties. XRD analysis confirmed that phase transition from crystalline to amorphous with increasing Li + and nano SiO 2 . Polymer blends and dopants (LiClO 4 and Nano SiO 2 ) appeared to interact strongly, according to spectroscopy study. Scanning electron microscopy showed the synthetic blended films surface textures as modified. UV–vis analysis showed band gap variations in polymer blend thin films, indicating structural changes and phase separation within the polymer matrix. These polymer blend thin films were undergone to the DC-conductivity experiments. As the temperature raise, LiClO 4 -doped films outperformed Nano SiO 2 in conductivity.
