Asynchronous Social Eating
We report an exploratory study investigating how video-mediated technology could support users in sharing the social experience of eating together, while eating at different times. We investigate the effect of providing users with a representation of the interaction (i.e. a timeline) that provides users with global information about the duration of the interaction, as well as local information about upcoming contributions (talking, eating) of the participants, showing how these constraints have beneficial effects on coordination.
