Robust Model Predictive Control for Offshore Wind Turbine
This paper presents a control scheme that combines the benefits of model predictive control (MPC) and active disturbance rejection using generalized proportional integral (GPI) observers. The proposed control scheme was applied to a 5MW offshore wind turbine model. To validate the control approach a baseline controller is used, which combines an Indirect Speed Controller (ISC) and a collective blade pitch controller (CPC). Simulation results show that the Robust MPC can greatly reduce the rotor speed and power variations under full-load conditions and perfect wind preview.
