Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Library Activities

Modern libraries face the need to adapt to the dynamic challenges of the digital era while simultaneously delivering innovative and efficient services to their users. Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers a wide range of opportunities for optimizing library operations, including automating routine processes, facilitating access to information, and personalizing services to meet user needs. This article explores the key applications of AI in the library sector, focusing on three main areas: the management and search of library resources, digitization and archiving, and personalized services for readers. The implementation of technologies such as machine learning, optical character recognition (OCR), and intelligent chatbots demonstrates significant potential for enhancing efficiency and the user experience. At the same time, the challenges of AI integration, including technical requirements, ethical considerations, and the need for data protection, are also addressed. The presented conceptual model for AI integration in libraries offers a structured solution that combines automation, data analysis, and personalized user services. The model includes key components such as intelligent resource indexing, analysis of user behavior, and secure mechanisms for data protection. In conclusion, the article highlights the importance of balanced AI use for sustainable, ethical library service development, meeting modern societal needs.
