Blueprint of Integrity: Continuing Ethics Education in Engineering
This paper highlights the crucial role of teaching engineering ethics across all educational levels, including undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate programs, and short courses. The lack of consistency in integrating engineering ethics into engineering curricula poses a significant issue. This study hypothesizes that courses in engineering ethics appeal even to veteran engineers with over 10 years of experience. Furthermore, handling such a course can be effective using case studies, particularly those that reflect local ethical decisions. Analyzing the feedback from participants of a short course on engineering management offered thrice over one-day sessions reveals a strong demand for more short courses in engineering ethics. Participants expressed a preference for these courses to be delivered through case studies.
