Practical Aspect of the Functioning of an Automated Decision Support System

Data processing plays a significant role in modern organizations. The management of large companies depends on reliable information about various aspects of operations, which in turn facilitates effective decision-making. The quality of management, the ability to plan activities efficiently, and the capacity to survive under fierce competition all rely on this. Equally important are the clarity of information presentation formats, the speed of generating new types of reports, and the ability to analyze both current and historical data accurately. Decision support systems based on information technology provide managers with these essential capabilities. Based on the research and analysis conducted, this study presents mathematical models for evaluating the effectiveness of centralized management within a national security support system (NSSS) under conflict conditions, as well as for supporting informed decision-making. Situational centers are considered the core elements at all system levels, and the necessary conditions for their operation are defined accordingly. A decision-making algorithm is also proposed. Using analytical methods and tools, the study substantiates that accurate analysis and effective decision-making within the NSSS require the development and application of computer-based processing procedure packages grounded in expert evaluations. The paper concludes with general findings, along with details on software support for expert data processing and system design.
