Education in the Field of Electronic Banking in University Courses

Education within the field of electronic banking and electronic payment systems has a long history at our higher education institution. Until recently the old banking software developed as a real electronic bank in a commercial bank was used. The rapid development of forms of electronic banking together with the demands for security and ease of their use, made this electronic bank software morally and technically obsolete. Furthermore, developing a new electronic bank for educational purposes was an opportunity to teach something new to our students. Therefore, the development of a new electronic bank was assigned as the topic of the bachelor thesis. The developed system is now used in two university courses. The feedback from students of these courses on the usage of the new electronic bank was gathered using a mandatory electronic questionnaire survey. Its basic statistics results are presented in the paper. The objective of the paper is to show the possibility of introducing the electronic bank developed by the student into the educational process of university courses. The plans for development resulting from the feedback are further presented.
